Here is some amazing tips on what to do before and during your new puppy stages.... These are things I did not read anywhere they are just my own personal experiences as I learn.
(if you have a Vizsla pup please see my Vizsla page also )
New pup? Not sure when to spay or neuter them? This is an interesting article I found on when to get your dog fixed. I agree with it but you may not and that is okay. If you ask your vet they will do it asap but I learned the hard way. I don't agree with getting my pup fixed at 6 months old. sorry... This article is for you to decide after you read . One of my dogs had issues when she got older with bladder leakage issues and my other dog had crystals in her urine from never being able to release them with her first heat all because I listened to the vets and fixed them too early. No more. Now I know better. Press buttons below for article on spay and neuter. Very import an info for all puppy owners!
PLEASE READ....
Once your dog is fully vaccinated around 6 months socialize, socialize, socialize!!!!!!!! I actually socialized my Vizsla pup from day one but with fully vaccinated dogs and in a clean environment which is best at your home. During the first 6 months of her life I invited dogs to my home every week that were friendly and fully vaccinated. Now she is 7 months old I will start taking her to Pet People Pet store around the block from me to socialize her. I plan to do this every Monday night so she will never be aggressive and will learn all dog personalities. Right now she is fully ready because I am finished with her vaccines and she has been around dogs in our home for 6 months now. I am posting a video below that I want all dog owners to watch. I don't care about your thoughts on Cesar Milan because I am a fan! I do think even if you are not a fan of his, this video is a must watch. People who don't socialize their dog turn them into aggressive animals that will lead to dog fights, biting and eventually maybe having to be locked up at home or be put down. This also leads to no one wanting to dog sit your dog or being able to re-home your dog if the time comes. So please watch this video and socialize your dog young!... Then come back to this page and learn some more good stuff that I have learned about raising a pup. This video will AMAZE you and show you how dogs are so misunderstood and need socializing!!!!!!!
Id like to show you how fast a puppy grows. So enjoy every second of it and take lots of pictures!!!!! I take a weekly photo with dates including a bottom of the paw photo.
This is my Vizsla pup Candy and she was 7 weeks old in the first photo and 13 weeks in the second photo. This amazing transformation all took place in only 6 weeks!! So enjoy this puppy stage because in a blink of an eye its over and she is grown! Take lots of video and photos. Its so fun to look back at them when she is an adult....
MY FAVORITE MUST HAVES FOR MY PUPPY! All from Chewy.com
Notice the cages down below. One is small and one is big! Then the harness is mesh for when they are little.! You will buy a couple of these as the pup grows. If you don't use it and try walking the dog on the leash attached to the collar they may slip out and it may cause neck damage or throat damage! They can be a little wild as a puppy and wanting to run and explore. I always use a harness at any age especially a mesh one at this for the flexibility. These are the ones I bought from Chewy.com. They ship fast and are pretty well priced.
This is sold at Target. This is great for a puppy because you can let them run and play on it and explore your yard. Also it helps because If you press the button when they get to the edge of the yard where there not suppose to cross and its stops them. So fence free areas this trains them to stop at the line! It is also great for walks because it has all the goods you will need right here on your leash. A reflector, poop bags and a light! I put a teething ring that is soft and put it through the bottom of the hooks to wrap it around for walks or they bite the leash the whole time their walking.
( this only good for small pups not for adult dogs)
TEETHING MUST HAVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I get these at pet people pet stores. This is the one thing I have to have with me at all times in every room of the house or my pup will use me as a teething toy. She is a Vizsla and I find she could care less about any toys for teething. she only LIKES THESE and my skin!
( throw away when they get 2 inches big or they can choke)
My most asked question is " how do you get your dogs so well balanced and friendly?
SOCIALIZE, PERSISTANCE, ROUTINE
AND STARTING YOUNG!!!!!
my 3 secret keys to my amazing dogs behavior.....
My favorite word in training is LEAVE IT and DOWN and NO BITE!
I use these words to train with almost everything they are not suppose to do and I have routines, schedules and persistence. That is it!
( always be firm when using the word leave it..............
When to get pup dog fixed?
This is my personal opinion from the research I have done and from past experience. Wait for at least 2 heat cycles.
Getting a new puppy....
First thing is do extreme research on the breed! No matter if you go to a breeder or a rescue these rules apply! ( check rescues for that breed before going to the breeder) Vizsla's are a little harder to come by at a rescue but are possible.

GETTING A VIZSLA PUPPY???? Please read!
I was not aware that Vizsla puppies are known for what they call "SHARK ATTACKS". It's very normal and they grow out of it. I just wish I knew because I thought my pup had something wrong with her such as a imbalance or behavioral issues.. This is extremely common with this breed. Its a little more aggressive than most dogs that teeth.
I have learned during the teething stage. It can be scary and you will need some bandaids ! Here is what I do now... I do not use the cage for discipline but when they get in to shark attack mode you will have to contain them because no toy , no words nothing works. I use my pup proof bathroom for 5 minutes after saying "NO BITE".. They need to know they are hurting you and that they can't be near you when they bite. Trust me not being near their owner for 5 minutes is punishment enough for this velcro breed!
I notice most Vizsla owners won't talk about Shark Attacks because they don't want people to think negative thoughts about Vizslas. I feel it's important to know so you don't give up your pooch or get blood work done thinking its got an imbalance or aggressive issue. I posted a video down below so you know what they are. But believe me you WILL KNOW WHEN THEY HAPPEN!!!! I tried to make it nice with a calm song to show you what a tantrum looks like. Yes I am holding my arm out just to show you what it look like... Normally I would not be doing this.
There is whole chat rooms on this situation you can join too.... This is a must see link so that you know that you are not alone and this stage does pass within 2 months. I PROMISE!

Before the puppy arrives...... The getting prepared stage!!!!!
Puppy proofing! And what to bring with you to pick him or her up!
Step One...
Once you have picked a dog for you it's time to get prepared with the things you should buy that you may not already have
Cage- I use a small one for a small puppy then have a back up for when they grow. The big one I slowly introduced the pup during pup stage so its not a shock later.
Soft padded washable Liner for the cage that fits perfect.
Toys that can not be shredded or have small pieces that they can chew off and choke on.
( I prefer Kong made stuffed animals and toys)
Collar with a tag immediately- Things happen when picking up a new dog!! Just getting them to the car and home they should have a tag on,.
Harness- For puppies I like the soft mesh ones until they get a little bigger! See photo below. I strongly recommend this because pulling them by the collar on their fragile neck is a bad idea and also they squirm and can slip out of the collar!
Retractable leash for small puppies to run while you walk them around the yard to release energy.
Stainless Steel bowls... This is a must! Plastic holds bacteria especially if you put dog food in it daily! Plastic containers and dishes are like a sponge that hold bacteria for ever.
Dog bag.. Like a diaper bag! This will have your basics for picking up your dog or traveling with your dog at any time during pup stage.
!- bring the liner to your cage and leave it on your lap until you pick up your dog.
2- paper towel and baby wipes
3- plastic bag for garbage
4- small bowl and water bottle
5- leash, harness, and collar with tags.
6- one stuffed animal ( tough kong one)
7- peepee pad is a must maybe even a few! Especially for small pups. ( my pup threw up on my lap but I had a pee pee pad on my lap) They get car sick easy at pup stage.
8- I sprayed the bottom of all my shoes outside with lysol to sanitize against parasites and parvo. You can track parasites and virus in on your shoes.
Step One...Wash all floors with a disinfectant. SANITIZE, SANITIZE, SANITIZE, parvo is deadly!!!! Keep your pup off dirty grounds, floors and pet stores and aways from dogs unvaccinated until at least 6 months old.. throw away old dirty toys and get new... If you can't throw everything in hot water and boil the germs off...
Okay now you have got all the things you need for your new puppy and everything is cleaned and sanitized here is the next step that I have learned.
Put all garbage cans in all rooms on the back of the toilet or up high or put a lid on them.

Step Two...
Give your neighbor a key to let your dog out of the cage just incase you work late or get stuck somewhere unexpected and need them to let the dog out for you! This will ease your mind.. Maybe even give out your key and alarm code attached to it to a few people you trust for a back up! You may need this one day!

Maybe even give out your key and alarm code attached to it to a few people you trust for a back up! You may need this one day!
Always keep the pups things next to the cage for your neighbor to easily find incase of an emergency and you can't get home. Also keep a note on the door as a check list saying please take harness and collar off before leaving pup in cage and leave all toys out of cage! This note should stay on the door for you to see as you leave every day for your own reminder too..... This photo has everything next to the cage. The treats are used to make the cage a happy experience. I always give a treat to my pup when she enters the cage.
Step Three.....
I put my dogs new cage by the window to see out but not too close to where the sun will beat on them!!!! Also I have a camera near it to check in on it when I can from my cell phone.
This is the cage below by window and is in the front of my dog cam with all the pup supplies near by.

Step Four.....
Get carpet for you slippery stairs if you have tile or hardwood. and a gate to block of stairs! Check my page for do's and Don'ts for links to where to purchase these stair rugs... I love them!
I purchased all my toys, harness, collar, and cage with liner from Chewy.com they are pretty cheap!
Step Five... Get your living room and office puppy proof. This is what your house will look like until your puppy grows. This will keep your pup safe. .. Cover all furniture and pad the surround areas that the pup may fall onto... My pup is obsessed with being on the couch so I decided to make it safe for her to do so. This is like one big padded jungle gym. This looked like this only for a few months. They grow so fast!
Time to meet your dog tips....
Take a item of clothing such a shirt and sleep with it for one week. Leave this item of clothing with the dog you pick out for one week also! When you pick up your dog you will see a huge difference in confidence with the trust the pup will with you as they know you already.
This is why you bring the cage liner with you when you pick up your pup! I put it on my lap with a toy and a peepee pad under her. This way when it's time to go in her new cage at home she will be fine with it. This also makes the ride home cozy. I used 3 pee pee pads. One for vomit from being car sick and two pee pee accidents. Mostly she just slept though. She was extremely comfortable with us because she had our sent with her for a week before picking her up... Very important I say riding on your lap is a bonding time for you and pup from day one. They say who ever the dog is closest too on this day it bonds with. I also feel caging them at this time is very stressful on the pup. This is a stressful day for a new pup anyways so I did not want to add to it by caging her up in a car full of strangers. See the difference here.
Bring with you..
Cage liner
Bag with your supplies
Collar with tags incase she or he gets away
One chew toy
Little sweater to keep them warm
Pee Pee pads
Stainless steel water bowl and a jug of water
Leash ( i like retractable for the little ones to run)
Paper towel
Baby wipes
Plastic bag for garbage
Rubber Gloves
Poo Poo bags

When you get home with your new pup......
Take the pup to the spot you wish for them to get use to peeing in right away and let her or him pee there before entering the house for the first time.
Carry the pup into the house and take them to the room where you keep the water dish.
Now put the pup down on the leash and slowly introduce them to each room slowly. Shortly after take them to the door and go out to potty so they know where the door for that is when they need it they will run to it crying. Comfort, praise and get the routine of water room and outside potty..... Play time with new toys. Leave cage door open during the is time and put the cage liner back in the cage so they smell their scent on it.
NEVER USE CAGE FOR DISCIPLINE!

Teething.....
(videos and photos coming soon)
Our new Vizsla pup is teething. All breeds and pups are different. I do notice that this breed as a young pup goes through some spaz sessions that may freek you out. Its because they are the VELCRO DOG that makes the biting spaz sessions crazy. They want to chew on you not the toys and try to push them away and they stick to you like velcro....... My pup at 8 weeks old is not really too young to understand "no bite". This is only a temporary stage but you will think you have a little gold pitbull on steroids for a while. I will post a video soon and you can leave a message on my blog if you experience this with the velcro dog too and what you find works best for this stage.

Crate training time...... (get ear plugs)
Be prepared for no sleep for a few days and nights. I recommend taking a few days off of work. Yes a few days! I would say I needed 4 days total before I get a system down. We will talk about a routine later. For now the first few nights you will need to really pay attention to my notes here to make your life easier. This is the hardest part that will make you really think "what was I thinking getting a puppy when my life was so nice and quiet". Trust me it is worth it once you get past the first 4-5 days and get on a strict schedule. I can not stress the word SCHEDULE enough!!!!!!!!! That is why you need 4 days off work.
My very important tips that I found worked out best for us
1- place cage by the couch for 3-4 nights
2- sleep on the couch by the cage every night
3-have a dim light on so the pup can see you
4- put the pup in the cage only after she or he has went potty, and is tired only!!!!!!!!!!! (very important)
5- put a treat and a toy in the cage before she or he enters and praise them while entering . They have toys that you can put treats inside of.
6-let your dog fall half asleep before putting her in there.
7- ignore the crying and put ear plugs in.
8- take the pup out to potty about 4 hours later no matter what.
9- do all of these steps a few times during the next few days and nights slowly leaving them in the cage for 3-4 hour periods and immediately taking them outside as soon as they wake up. That should be the first thing you do as soon as you let them out of the cage they will have to go now...
Schedule Time is happy time....
This should be about day 3 or 4 your life should be getting easier now. Dogs and people function better on a schedule and life runs so much smoother. Move the cage to your bedroom now so the pup can see you and hear you and let you know when it's potty time. Leave on a dim light so the pup can see you are in the room sleeping.
These photos were taken 3 days after we got things running smoothly at home, You will thank me for this info because without these steps life can get really messy and you will have no sleep for a long time. Your dog will thank you too!
Okay so here are the things you want to start doing
I have a schedule I wrote out that I will stick with daily even on weekends when I don't work. Find one that works best for you. Here is mine. By now your pup should be better at going in the cage with only a little crying and this system will help with that also. Puppy proof your office or the room you spend a lot of time in too for this routine. ( see pup on the bed to the left) during the time she is suppose to stay awake. I keep her up until it's nap time. ( use a toy that holds peanut butter to wake them up)

Our schedule worked like this during the first few months of puppy stage....
6:45-AM
Wake up and take pup outside right away then feed. ( I only get up this early because they won't sleep any longer)
play time in my office starts at
7:00 am while I am drinking coffee and checking emails. ( keep pup awake until 8 no matter what) not easy!!!!!
8:00 am- always leave classical music playing for naps and while your away. It calms them.
Puppy nap time in cage while I get ready for work. (give a treat when entering cage) this gives me one hour to get showered, makeup and hair.
9:00 am
wake puppy take outside right away and feed again. (pups need to eat often but not before going in cage)
Play time or take a walk time for an hour.
10:00 am
Get pup prepared to go night night in the cage for a few hours before leaving. Take harness and collar off before putting her in the cage unattended. Harness and collars can get stuck on cage bars and they also tend to chew on the harness and collars. take them off then let the dog outside one last time before leaving and NO FOOD OR WATER!!!!!!!!
I do not leave the pup for more than 3-4 hours so I do come home from work for an hour to let the pup outside!!!! Make your schedule work for this at work or the pup will hate the cage and mess it......

Okay so this is the routine that is making our life wonderful with a new pup. Most of this information is based on a pup at age of 8 weeks. I will post updates on the next stage as she grows and also videos and photos of first bath, training and more! right now we shall let her be a puppy for a few weeks!
Nap time ended around 5-6 months. The puppy tends not to have a hard time staying away until bedtime at this point. Without nap time at the ages of 8-18 weeks it was not fun. She got cranky and sleepy before we went to bed and was wide awake during our bedtime. So this was a must at a young age. Just a tip. The retractable leash is only good for small puppies. Also these harnesses have to be upgraded every month or two because they will out grow them fast.
My summary on raising my Vizsla pup as of today is....
8-12 weeks-
1- lots of saying (no bite) sometimes needing canned air
2- Getting the every week vaccines and keeping the pup away from other dogs and mostly in her own yard until vaccines are over. And away from pet stores. I even would carry her into the vet so she didn't walk on the floors.
3- Taking the pup out every few hours to show her that she is suppose to pee in the house.
4- Trimming the nails weekly.
5-Puppy proofing the house and putting non slip rugs down and pillows around the couch for padding incase she falls.
6- keeping bully sticks around the house at all times to help with the teething (vizsla pups we call this shark attacks)
7- sticking with a routine and naps for this stage!!!
8- Lots of hiccups but its normal and one tip take a lot of pictures and videos.. most of these things are so different in a few weeks!
4-6 months-
I- feeding 3 times a day for growth
2- this stage can have a lot of anxiety. Bug phobia, people phobia, anything can trigger a phobia during this stage. My pup was scared of everything during this stage especially bugs!!!!! During this stage keep a tight little doggie shirt around. This will cure them of any anxiety attacks I promise!
3- socialize now that the pup is all vaccinated. I feel this is very important. I use all natural flea drops at this stage even making my own bug sprays free from all chemicals.
4- check harness and collars to make sure they are not too tight. They have grown a lot by this age and maybe needing a new one or loosen it by now.
4- I started my pup on a wireless electric fence at 5 months old. I found this was THE BEST age to start it!!! Sounds young but I can promise you they learn quick and they never get zapped because of learning at a young age. They don't forget. One zap and they never cross the line again!! IF you need info on the wireless electric fence I have some awesome tips for you on this one! We walked through this one in 7-14 days fully trained! Amazing!
5- 6 months old I notice the shark attack teething stage has gone away! No nap time needed! The phobias has disappeared and the pup is ready to socialize and is a lot calmer. This stage is so nice I promise its like night and day! IF you can make it to the 6- 7 month stage you have made it! It's a cake walk and all fun now! My Vizsla pup loves to carry scarfs around the house and small blankets for security. I get small scarfs from the dollar store and also sometimes for extra security I let her wear her little shirts and carry a blanket around. They love this at this age. 4-7 months. especially Vizsla's because they are a little more of a nervous breed. I would never have made it through this stage without her security blankets, scarves to carry and her little shirts and sweaters. Those shirts and sweaters turned her into a calm and happy dog. I collect them now for when she is scared. THEY ARE AMAZING!!!! These photos below are examples of what my dog was like with a shirt on. This was after an anxiety attack and the difference with a shirt on was absolutely a miracle! She had to wear them for about 2 months during the puppy anxiety stage of 4-7 months of age but as you will see when she turned 7 months she no longer needed the shirt on a daily basis just only as needed! When we finally removed the shirt after 2 months and she was confident we took a photo of her by our car and celebrated! Now its only as needed at this age. Thank god! We really missed taking photos of her beautiful model body! So anyways 7 months is when they get more confidence. So these photos are 4-6 months and the last one by the car is age 7 months! You can see the change in her face and even in her body language.
If you have a Vizsla pup I strongly recommend making a Facebook page with your dogs photo as a profile pic. Then name the page something slash Vizsla for an example. Candy Vizsla. This way you will find all the Vizsla dog owners everywhere all over the world and make friends with them all! Join Vizsla forums and chat rooms. You will learn a lot and you can share issues and ideas with each other. They also make it fun with meet up groups and sometimes sends each others dogs post cards! So i recommend this one for sure! I don't know if other dog parents with other breeds do this or not. Maybe because this is still a little more of a rare breed and have rare issues lol. Anyways its fun we upload daily photos as our pup has birthday parties and more! You can find me under Precious Tequilla Candy on Facebook. I didn't use the word Vizsla in my profile because at the time I didn't know this little trick! I just add all the people who have a Vizsla as a profile pic and they add me once they see what my main post are. Which I do stick with the Vizsla post only just for them!
Tip...
Adding a new pup while already having a dog.
This is what i do see. My yellow lab Tequilla loves all dogs but is a bit jelous that this pup is living in her home. I let her do what she needs to do to let the pup know she is the boss. Sometimes you may see ignoring for long while and maybe some slight growling. Let them work it out!!!!!!!! She needs to teach the pup boundaries and thats how they do it. Let them work it out. Just make sure it's not past the warning stage to biting stage. Mine is not at all. Keep the pup away from your dogs food until it's old enough to be trained. They will eventually work it out and become buds. Give it time and stay out of it!

Tips on what not to give your pup...
Kong Fillers in the squirt can....
I am not a fan of the kong fillers that come in a can to fill kong toys. They are filled with chemicals and will give you pup diarrhea and can be a mess in the cage.
Stick with all natural high quality peanut butter or high quality treats only for your dog. Not the stuff they sell in stores that come in packages to keep your dog entertained for hours. They are usually chemicals!!!!!!!!
I love orijen products they are all natural and extremely high quality!
BIG TIP on FOOD!!!!!
FOR PUPPY OWNERS ESPECIALLY WITH VIZSLA PUPS!!!!!!!!
Use the six fish food and not the puppy formula... My pup had very dry skin from the puppy formula. Not enough omega 3's for skin a coat. Six fish is for all dog including puppies and has tons of omega 3's for their dry flaky coats... This is soooooo much better for my pups fur than the puppy formula!!!!

First bath at 8 weeks old................. (coming soon) I need to download the videos...
In this video I use baby shampoo for my pup because she is only 8 weeks old. I didm not want to irritate her skin and eyes. This button below will take you to show dog shampoo and conditioner that is suppose to be great for the skin and coat. I will use this next and leave some reviews on it!
NAIL TRIMMING...
I cut my Vizsla puppy's nails weekly!!!!! They grow fast and this way she get's use to it. This is so easy with a little cat nail trimmer... Very important to do it weekly as they grow or you will have a harder time later.
9 week update on a a Vizsla pup....
Okay it's been one week today! This Vizsla pup has already learned to go to the front door and whine when it's time to go potty. She has learned her new schedule and goes right into her cage when it's time for nap. She knows right where her food is and even knows when its treat time. AMAZING at 9 weeks old. The teething is still something she is working on. She tends to use us for a chew toy and not her toys. Ill update on that soon!
Puppy shark attack teething tips..
First thing that is a must is CANNED AIR!!!!! every time your pup goes to attack you spray the air near her but not at her or him. They hate the sound then they think twice before doing it again. I keep this with me every where I went. As soon as the pup would bite I would spray it then give her a bully stick. This broke the shark attack biting stage within a week! There is actually a forum you can look at if you google Vizsla puppy shark attacks. This breed is known for this at a certain age. This is important to know so you don't think your dog is crazy. It only last about 1 month. If you break it sooner with canned air you will have more fun. Having another dog around to play with them really helps too. I know I kept kids away from there during shark attack time and it usually was certain times of day and night. Mine started after dinner time so it wasn't because she was hungry but hey say feed them during this time and it helps.

TEETHING UPDATE....
I have tried every toy and bone there is and my Vizsla pup still only wants to chew on me! So I went to the store called PET PEOPLE which I love! They told me to try the curlys. It's a tenant and is tasty. THIS IS WHAT I NEEDED! This is my savior for the teething. I have this with us at all times in every room and every where we go! They are cheap and AMAZING! Great and safe for pups but please still watch them with it. Do not leave it in their cage and throw away when it's too small. See my video below. ( she also loves to play with 2 liter coke bottles) cheap and fun!
Update as of July 22nd... I found the cureless to be great but the bully sticks are less dangerous due to size and no tenants.)

Changing eye color update
My pup Candy had blue eyes up until about 8 weeks... Now they are totally green as of 9 weeks
Candy and Tequilla have their own bathroom! If you can do this its awesome!
12 week update on having a new puppy!
So I have went through one collar and one harness only due to her outgrowing them. As anyone who knows me knows that I don't attach the leash to the collars only the harness! I also am about 2 weeks away from graduating my pup to a bigger cage. So I am already slowly introducing her introducing her to it by having it in an area that she gets to nap in it once in a while while I am cooking or ext. I love getting the cage liners from chewy.com. They are a nice thick pad that goes at the bottom and wash and dry great! I will post a link below. I also find that the puppy "shark attacks" are getting better by this week. Also I notice by this week she has been letting us walk her about 2 miles away from the home but still always does better on the way back to the home than going away from the home. Their noses are amazing and the instinct is to find the way home not leave it. So this took some practice getting her to walk anywhere away from the home! Even 2 miles away she tend to pull in the direction that home was. Its easier if you bring a few people and another dog and maybe attach a chew toy to the leash some how to distract them from not wanting to leave your area.
At the age of 12 weeks my pup is very use to her routine by this point. She has to take a nap at 8pm and I wake her at 9 pm so we can go to sleep at 10:30 or 11:00pm If she doesn't take a nap she will zone out at 9pm and wake up at 10 pm then we are in trouble for our bed time! So she knows at 8pm Its nap time and you can see that is when she gets a little shark attack and whiney so its nap time in our bedroom in her little cage bedroom door open with classical music playing. If we shut the bedroom door she can't see whats is going on in the home and won't sleep. So this is another helpful tip! She is so use to routine that after I make coffee in the morning she knows that its time to go upstairs to my office and she waits by the gate going up stairs immediately after my coffee is brewed. If you have a Vizsla pup you may at this point think there okay off leash but they will surprise you and wonder off out of nowhere.. They are close to being ready and you will notice they are the velcro dog so they usually don't go far but still too young to trust.

5 month tips and tricks.... This is where the shark attack stage has passed and now the bug phobia stage began...
Okay so when Candy our Vizsla pup turned about 5 months old she started a new puppy stage called Bug Biting .. This is a bug phobia that she is dealing with now. It may not affect all dogs but we live in the woods with lots of bugs. So Candy thinks that the bugs are still attacking her even when she's in the house. I will try to upload videos soon. She even would wake up at night and bite at the air to get them. Some people say this is a from of epilepsy but for now I would say its another puppy stage of fear of bugs because putting t-shirt on her works! Id recommend a tight t shirt and put it on them outdoors and indoors until fall. This will help you and your dog get restful night sleeps.
