I am known for not only loving dogs but studying dog health! I turn in dog food companies to the AAFCo that have misleading information on the bags all the time. I also keep up on recalls and more so keep in touch!

Why I do this?
This is what Iams has in their puppy formula! Bi- products!!!!! Corn Meal!!!! they are all a NO- NO! ( just an example of how we think popular means good)
A puppy needs a healthy diet to grow. This is why someone has to take time to learn and turn them in. We don't want our dogs eating this crap!
IAMS PUPPY FORMULA
Click on the link above to see the difference in what Iams is feeding our dogs V.S a quality more expensive brand below.. This is a very good example that I have listed! You will learn why it's best to pay a little bit more and not trust the popular brands anymore!
ORIJEN PUPPY FOOD
DO YOUR HOMEWORK....
Most brand name dog foods are garbage! I took time to study dog food and the big brands like Iams are not what you think! Please do your homework and email me your questions on dog food and I will answer them for you.. Especially hunting dogs. They need a lot of meat. Good quality meat. That is why my dogs will only be eating the highest quality dog food there is. I choose orijen because it's all raw fresh meat with no fillers or garbage. They also have everything fresh delivered daily!
I did my homework. Yes this dog food is extremely expensive but you will save on vet bills and a dogs life by being miserable and shortened later. Save your self a heartache of a dog with health issues. Pay the price now and not later.
I can always look at a dog and tell you if they eat good stuff or garbage. It aways shows!!!!!!
I look for shiny fur, not over weight and they will not be having extreme allergies! They can't because good quality dog food starves the yeast!!!!!!
Tip...
(dogs that lick their paws excessively have too much yeast) Starve it with meat only foods!!!! No filler, no sugar,
NO YEAST!!!!
Like magic all the allergies disappear... As in the wild they aren't full of allergies because they live on raw meat proteins!!
FACT!!!!!!!!!!
People spend more on allergy products, medications and remedies than better dog food.. hmmm doesn't make sence!

DOG ALLERGIES ON THE RISE! WHY?????.
I can't stress enough on this subject. If your dog is itching and does not have fleas then it is what they are eating! Dogs are not big on having allergies it is 99% what they are eating. Narrow down the root of the problem. Here are some tips to narrow down the problem here.
1- Never keep your dog food in a plastic container..EVER !
2- No more garbage treats and foods
3- Read your dog food label and learn them. Here is a link here to help find out what is in you dog food.
Type in your dog food here and find out what is in it
4- Prepare baggies for snacks in the fridge of poached eggs, raw boneless chicken rinsed and chopped up for easy access for treat time.
5- No flea drops.. Give apple cider vinegar pills daily and use all natural drops.
All Natural Flea Drop Link Here
(unless the situation is extreme)
We don't want dogs to suffer with fleas.
(also ask your vet for the lime shot if you live near the woods or go to the woods a lot )
6- One Omega 3 and One apple cider vinegar pill daily to prevent allergies
7- No carbs for dogs! They will get fatty masses!
GET RID OF ALLERGIES MEANS STARVE THE YEAST!!!!!!!!!!
INFORMATION ON BLOAT!
Okay so, I just want to warn people that Bloat is common and deadly! You need to learn what to look for and what to keep in your house at all times if you have a dog prone to bloat. Bloat is nothing more than air trapped in a belly of a dog. This can happen so easy and sooooo fast! They can bark too much, drink too fast or eat too much food at once and air will get trapped in the belly then the belly expands then it twist then they can die.
Usually there is no time to get to a vet and if there is they do a major surgery and the dog doesn't always live through it. So today's lesson is learn what you can do to save your dog in a emergency and what to look for incase you can't make it to a vet..... My dog is a Dudley lab which is a long and lean lab. This means she has a long torso and neck. This is the kind of dog that's prone to bloat. Air easily goes down the wind pipe and into the stomach if a dog has a longer neck style body type.
Ok so this just happen again to my family last night. My dog Tequilla spent the week with my nephew which is not uncommon. I pack her bag and her pills for emergency bloat at all times. I always remind him when he leaves to watch for signs of bloat. He got so use to me reminding him that as soon as she showed signs he called me at 2 am in the morning. I told him what to do and to give her pills asap (physme). She made it through bloat for about the tenth time in her 8 years of life now. So I want to share with you what you can do....
BLOAT SYMPTOMS AND PREVENTIONS..
1- do not feed more than once cup of food at a time
2- do not give water immediately after dry kibble or it expands in the belly or mixing water with dry kibble!!!
3- no barking, running or playing 1 hour before or after eating anything
4- barking is never good it causes extreme air to go into the throat
5- being dropped off at a stressful new place will cause excessive panting and bloat will occur
6- taking walks with a leash attached to the collar and not the harness
(especially choke collars)
CHOKE COLLARS ARE TERRIBLE!
No reason for these now that they have designed no pull harnesses!!!!!!!!
(bad for neck too)
7-always cut food and meats up in bite size pieces!!
(make sure the meat is not warm at all to the touch)
9- never warm the food up
10- no playing catch with the treats in the air
Ok so now you know what to do and what not to do. Here is the symptoms
Panting
Licking the ground like crazy or licking at the air!!!
Can't lay down and stay still
Grumbling Belly
Vomit White Foam
Scrunching up like the belly hurts
Ok no it's dangerous and you can follow these steps only if you absolutely CAN NOT GET TO A VET. This is only in an emergency situation.. This is what I do...
ALWAYS KEEP GAS- X IN THE HOUSE, CAR AND IN YOUR PURSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(physme) is best for dogs but gas X is fine...
I send this with my dog in her bag anywhere she goes and always have it in my cars and house.
Give your dog 5-10 depending on the size with a drop of peanut butter A.S.A.P
I give 3 pills then see how she is doing.
Ok now walk them until they burp!
Do not stop until they let out a big release of gas out of one of their ends!!!! Do immediately!!!
Then rub the belly and hold a warm towel on the belly to help the gas come out
Make sure there is nothing they can lick up that is dangerous.. They will lick up anything and everything to relive the pressure they are feeling.
Leaves and grass it ok and can help..
They will throw it all up in a little while from the licking and pills.
Ok so this is what I have done about 10 times now to save my dogs life from Bloat. She is still here but remember this is at your own risk and is for emergency situations when you can't get to the vet. They will do surgery to get the air out...
Things they say to do and buy that help that I find to be worse...
See why below.......
Bloat prevention bowls. They swollow more air trying to get the food out of these.. Its more work and more licking...I just Give small portions in a regular bowl.
Small portions spaced apart in time works!
Elevated food and water bowls.. I find this to allow the air in to the throat more. In the wild dogs eat off the ground which causes the neck to pinch off the air as they eat. I find if the water and food on the ground as in the wild the neck is pinching off the air flow. Use your own judgement depending on your dogs height and breed..
(Great Danes now have a surgery option of stapling the stomach)
Peanut butter can cause excessive licking which can cause bloat.
Remember this........ Give only a dab if needing to give a pill....
I hope this helps and remember this can happen to any dog but is more common in adults and larger breeds. That is why I don't leave food out while away... Always supervise eating and drinking.
Chemicals for dogs...
I am not a fan of any chemicals going onto my pet skin. I do not give my dog any flea drop with chemicals. Most flea drops are FILLED with harmful chemicals that get into your dog's nervous system and organs and cause serious health problems later in life. I only use the all natural remedies on my dogs. If your interested please visit this link... (when I purchase heart guard I don't get the one with the built in flea meds)

Why Pitbulls Can Make Good Pets
http://www.pitbulls.org/article/6-reasons-pit-bulls-make-great-pets
A little story behind my artwork. This artwork I did of this pitbull below is a great example of what I do.. This was a pitbull rescued from Detroit in the middle of freezing temperatures. When I heard of the story I offered to turn this story into artwork. This was auctioned at a pitbull fundraiser for a lot of money and proceeds went to helping this little guy out! This is what I like to do! This way there is a story behind the artwork and profits go to the victim in the art.

Cut up paper towel into strips put in a plastic container with some water and baby shampoo.
Great tip for pee pee on carpet!
If your pup has a pee pee accident on the carpet.....Do nothing to the wet spot and just put a generous amount of baking soda on top the wet spot. In short time you will see yellow color being pulled up and adsorbed by the baking soda.
Give a hour or so and then sweep up what you can... then vac up the rest. Then with a wet cloth (with cleaner on it) give it a few scrubs. Results are great!!!!
Don't over pay for pet meds!!!
Hit the drug store!
The convenience of filling pet prescriptions at the vet will cost you. Tramadol (a pain reliever) can be $64 for 100 tablets at the vet but $54 at Walgreens.
A lot of prescriptions have a alternative but make sure your dog doesn't suffer any side effects. My elder dog can not take the generic brands of any medications. She tends to get an odd green discharge in her eyes from the cheaper brand medications, they call it dry eye.

On average, AAA members save 24% on prescriptions for humans and pets at more than 60,000 retail pharmacies. (Find participating pharmacies at AAA.com/prescriptions.)

Thanks for visiting my blog.....
I would like to share with you one little thing before you leave this page. Blogs and emails save lives. Here is why..... When you receive an email to forward information on a dog fundraiser or a dog looking for a home FORWARD IT TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW... This has found many of dogs homes and has raised a lot of money for dogs too! This week I forwarded a email to everyone I knew about a donation truck coming to Troy to pick up anything you may have to give to dogs and they were going to have some dogs available to adopt out too. I sent that to 100 people and one went to the event and adopted a dog. That was worth sending the email. Now that dog has a good home thanks to me forwarding that out!
